Preston Hutson focuses his practice primarily in the area of general civil litigation. He has spent the majority of his 18-year career defending businesses against all manner of personal injury claims, from general negligence and premises liability claims, to dram shop liability, and allegedly defective products. Preston’s experience includes managing large, multi-party defective products litigation involving numerous claims across multiple jurisdictions.

Preston’s broad experience in business and personal injury litigation provides him with a unique ability to help companies identify and control potential risks. Preston’s defense of a national Real Estate Investment Trust enables him to counsel clients to avoid a broad array of potential liability claims with updated protocols and procedures and to manage potential risks through indemnity and release agreements.

Before law school, Preston spent several years working for the Texas Senate. As a legislative staff member, Preston aided the Senate’s passage of both the omnibus insurance reform and the legislative effort to transition the State Board of Insurance into the Texas Department of Insurance.

Preston is a Fellow with Texas Bar Foundation. He currently serves as an Editor of the Houston Lawyer, the legal journal of the Houston Bar Association. He also serves on the Association’s Habitat for Humanity Committee in its effort to provide quality housing in Houston.

When not defending his clients against unjust claims, Preston resides in Cypress, Texas with his wife of 21 years, Julie Jackson Hutson. He and Julie are the devoted parents of Kyle (18) and Alexandra (15). Preston is a rabid Texas Aggie Football fan. He enjoys running and photography.
